Omar Bulphred, the man found guilty of firebombing a Jewish boys' school in Outremont in 2006, will spend more time behind bars.

Bulphred pleaded guilty to uttering death threats and breaching the conditions of his June 11 release and was sentenced to six more months in jail.

The 27-year-old man was arrested in July, just a month after completing his sentence.

He was incarcerated for firebombing the Skver-Toldos Jewish Boys School in Outremont in September 2006 and attempting to bomb the YM-YWHA Ben Weider Jewish Community Centre in Côte-des-Neiges the following April.

No one was hurt in those attacks, but it did send waves of fear through Montreal's Jewish community.

Bulphred pleaded guilty to those crimes and was sentenced in Feb. 2009 to seven years in prison.

In July, he was found wandering at random into the yards of Montreal residents, and after getting into an argument with one person, he threatened to kill him.

He was detained at that time for breaching a condition of his release and ordered to undergo a psychiatric evaluation.

While detained, he broke a second condition, when he wrote a letter to a Correctional Service of Canada officer he had been ordered not to contact.

In a letter read to the court by Bulphred's lawyer, the Algerian-born man apologized and said he understands that he has psychiatric problems, promising to get treatment.

Bulphred faces three years' probation at the end of his newest sentence and is to be followed closely by a psychiatrist.
