Stacey Snider, the woman who was at the wheel of BMW involved in a deadly crash with a bus last Aug. 14, has been charged with a single count of impaired driving.

Her mother, Janet Snider, 61, was a passenger in the car. She died in the accident, as did the driver of the city bus, Sylvain Ferland.

Seven other people were also injured in the crash.

Snider faces no charges in connection with either death.

The Crown prosecutor is treating the case as a summary conviction, which means Snider faces a shorter sentence if she is found guilty than she would have had she been indicted.

A maximum sentence for a summary conviction on the impaired driving charge is 18 months. Had she been indicted, Snider could have faced as much as five years in prison.

The Crown prosecutor's office has said Snider will face no other charges in relation to this case.
