Arrest made in sexual assault at downtown church

Police have arrested a man wanted in connection with an alleged sexual assault at a church in downtown Montreal earlier this week.
Montreal police made a public appeal for help locating the suspect yesterday after a 19-year-old woman reported that she was attacked while taking photos outside St. James the Apostle church, located at Sainte-Catherine and Bishop streets, Saturday at around 3:30 p.m.
Investigators believe the male suspect had keys to the church and allege that the assault took place in the building's basement.
Police said they have not confirmed how the man obtained keys to the building.
Corrections issued a warrant for Christopher Norman Jost after he failed to check in at a halfway house. (Montreal police) The Canadian Correctional Service issued a warrant for Christopher Norman Jost, 46, after he failed to check in at a Montreal halfway house Saturday evening.
Montreal police said Jost was a volunteer at the church.
A corrections spokesman said they were contacted by Montreal police after Jost was identified as a suspect in the sexual assault.
Jost was arrested in Brossard earlier this afternoon.
He is expected to appear in court tomorrow.
