Homicide in Ahuntsic linked to Mafia

Police say the death of a man who was found in a car may be linked to the Mafia and that the victim was known to police. (CBC)
Police are investigating the 33rd homicide of the year in Montreal after a body was discovered in a parked car Saturday morning.
At about 9:30 a.m., police on a routine patrol discovered a vehicle of interest parked at the corner of Sauriol Street and Larose Avenue, in a residential area of Montreal North.
During their investigation of the car, which police say was related to a recent event, officers spotted a body inside.
Once they unlocked the doors of the car, police discovered the victim — a man in his fifties — and pronounced him dead at the scene.
Const. Danny Richer said the man is known to police and the homicide could be connected to the Mafia.The major crimes unit is on the scene and investigators are meeting with neighbours and witnesses.
Police have no supsects at this time.
