André Boisclair renounces civil service job nomination

Former Parti Québécois leader André Boisclair has decided to renounce his nomination to a permanent government job.
Boisclair was recently named Quebec's delegate general in New York City, but opposition politicians voiced concerns after they learned he had also been given permanent status as a senior civil servant.
This morning, Premier Pauline Marois said that she met with Boisclair to discuss the controversy.
Marois said they both decided that he would give up that permanent position.
Boisclair will remain delegate general to New York.
Marois said that she will nominate a committee to look at out settling out rules for nominations in order to help governments recruit and keep qualified individuals.
