Customs officers picket at Canadian airports

Close to 30 customs officers were picketing in front of Montreal's Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport today.
The officers will be picketing at airports across Canada today in an attempt to raise awareness about the impact of $143 million in cuts made by the federal government last April.
According to the Customs and Immigration Union, the budget cuts have compromised security at Canada's borders.
Picketers say the cuts have brought security to a "critical point."
More than 1,300 of them will lose their jobs as a result.
President of the union, Jean-Pierre Fortin, said it's possible some protests could also take place at Canada-U.S. border crossings.
He said he doesn't expect the action to cause delays.
