Laval is a key region in the 2012 election campaign.
Leaders wasted no time visiting the island north of Montreal during the campaign's outset.
Local leaders and residents say they're pleased at the attention, as Laval is one of the province's fastest-growing regions.
Liberal Leader Jean Charest spent day two and three of the campaign in Laval.
Parti Québécois Leader Pauline Marois made major education announcements in the city, flanked by her young star candidate Léo Bureau-Blouin, who is running in Laval-des-Rapides.
Laval-des-Rapides promises to be a three-way race this campaign.
Coalition Avenir Québec has landed candidate Maud Cohen, former president of Quebec's Order of Engineers.
Cohen is running against Liberal incumbent Alain Paquet and Bureau-Blouin.
