Police said the suspect was driving so recklessly that he hit light posts, street signs, and a car on the side of the road before his car broke down and fell apart.

"The car finally lost the rear left tire, he lost all the wheel, and he finally stopped the car because the car won't go anymore," said Montreal Police spokesperson Daniel Fortier.

The driver was finally arrested shortly before midnight, near the intersection of Henri Bourassa Boulevard and Sainte-Colette Boulevard in the city's North End.

Fortier said the man will be charged with dangerous driving and impaired driving.

No one was hurt in the incident.
