Communauto heads to Montreal's West Island
Pilot project to be launched this Spring

A version of the popular car-sharing service Communauto will soon be available on Montreal's West Island.
The borough of Pierrefonds-Roxboro has been negotiating for years to bring a car-sharing service to the area.
It says a pilot project called Peer-to-Peer is expected to get rolling this Spring.
"It's one of the 100 actions in our sustained development plan," said borough councillor Catherine Clément-Talbot.
Currently, there are nearly 1,000 vehicles around Montreal, the South Shore and Laval.
Communauto spokesperson Marco Viviani said Pierrefonds-Roxboro is one of several suburbs where the Peer-to-Peer pilot project will be launched.
"People owning a car can share their car with other people in their neighbourhood," he said.
Unlike Communauto, the cars in the Peer-to-Peer service will be owned by residents, who will be paid to rent them out.
Communauto will also bring the new program to the Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie borough and to the Sainte-Foy borough near Quebec City.
