A community organization that supports people affected by Quebec's Richelieu River flooding has been robbed.
SOS Richelieu reports it was targeted by thieves this week, who made off with gift cars worth an estimated $17,000.
The volunteer organization was set up last spring to help people affected by the historic floods, which lasted nearly two months.
Hundreds of people were displaced from their homes in May when the river burst its banks and flooded the low-lying Richelieu Valley, known for its rich farmers' fields.
Hundreds are still homeless because of extensive repairs or rebuilding needed due to severe water damage in several communities.
