CBC Montreal is broadcasting live throughout the day Friday, collecting funds for Head & Hands.

The Montreal-based charity's Young Parents' Program provides hot lunches for parents under 25 and their children.

CBC Radio's Daybreak, Radio Noon and Homerun are featuring special stories throughout the day about young families and the challenges they face in preparing affordable, healthy food.

Later in the day, Debra Arbec and Joanne Vrakas of CBC Montreal at 5, 5:30 and 6 will be live at Head and Hands.

Who: Debra Arbec, Joanne Vrakas, Shawn Apel, Mike Finnerty, David Gutnick, Sonali Karnick, Loreen Pindera, Kelly Rice, Bernard St-Laurent and Sue Smith.

Why: Collecting donations for the Head & Hands Young Parents hot lunch program. Every $1.50 donated equals one hot nutritious lunch for a young parent or child.
