A 41-year-old man is dead and another man is seriously injured after the walls of a house they were renovating collapsed Friday afternoon.

The bungalow in Sherbrooke was undergoing major renovations.

Police say four men from the construction company Dujour were working on the foundation and exterior walls of the house when one of the walls collapsed on the two men.

Fire fighters say one man was able to crawl out of the rubble and is suffering from non-life threatening injuries.

Fire fighters had to use air matresses and mechanical shovels to free the second man. He died at the scene.

Police say the owner of the construction company arrived at the house shortly after the accident. They say he became overwhelmed and had to be taken away by ambulance.

Police are investigating with the local fire department to find out what caused the accident.
