A Montreal man accused of killing his neighbour in Dollard-des-Ormeaux will remain behind bars until the end of the month.

Michel Langlois, 50, was charged with second-degree murder on Friday.

Justyna Kozyra, 27, died Thursday in hospital after she was attacked with a knife on Brunswick Boulevard.

Neighbours say Langlois was upset with Kozyra's dog for defecating on the lawn in front of his apartment building.

Defence attorney Charles Benmouyal said Langlois is in shock.

"Anybody in this situation could not keep his calm that easily — he is facing something very serious."

Langlois will remain in custody until his bail hearing.
