Quebec provincial police are asking for the public's help after a young woman was found shot to death near a hiking trail southwest of Montreal last week.
Police have identified the victim as 21-year-old Karine Faubert but say they have few leads and no suspects.
A local resident found the woman's body on Aug. 12 near a path off Highway 138, in the town of Godmanchester.
Faubert lived in Saint-Louis-de-Gonzague, a short drive from where her body was found.
Police said her car was found in a church parking lot in Saint-Louis-de-Gonzague over the weekend.
Investigators are combing the vehicle for clues.
"We are going ... to try and find something that can help us with our investigation" said Ronald McGinnis from the Sûreté du Québec.
Mikael Latour lives near the church and said the vehicle simply appeared overnight.
Police said they would also expand their search around the Godmanchester area after the initial investigation yielded little. They will also go door-to-door in Saint-Louis-de-Gonzague looking for someone who may have seen Faubert.
Residents in the area said they were worried after hearing Faubert was shot and then dumped in the woods.
"It's definitely a shock," one neighbour said. "I'm frustrated by the speed of the investigation."
Christine Coulombe, a spokeswoman from the Sûreté du Québec, said anyone with information should come forward.
