Quebec's investment arm wants its money back from a U.S. company that abruptly closed three Canadian call centres laying off more than 1200 workers last week.

Reports say Investissements Quebec sent a letter to IQT solutions asking for the company to return almost $670,000 to the province..

The money was given to the company in 2000 to open a call centre in Laval.

The Laval facility, along with one in Trois-Rivières and one in Ontario were closed suddenly last week.

The head of Investissements Quebec Jacques Daoust says the closures violated Quebec's Labour Code and the company should return the cash.
