Police in Quebec have arrested 15 people in connection with an alleged international drug ring with operations in Montreal and New York.

More arrests are expected Friday in New York, say police.

On Thursday, hundreds of officers from the Sureté du Québec, RCMP and several local police forces carried out search warrants in the Montreal area as part of Operation Acabar.

Police confiscated 175,000 ecstasy pills and $1.3 million in cash.

One of the locations searched was the Titanium Gym on Crémazie Street in the Saint-Michel district.

Montreal police Commander Denis Mainville said the network was trafficking ecstasy across the Canada-U.S. border.
