Former Montreal city councillor Michael Fainstat has died.
Fainstat, 87, was suffering from Parkinson's Disease.
He died on December 29.
Fainstat was a founding member of the Montreal Citizens' Movement.
He was former Montreal Mayor Jean Doré's right-hand man from 1986 to 1990, and sat as chair of the city's executive committee.
A funeral service will be held January 9.
