A Montreal man has died in hospital after he was hit by a car during a hit and run apparently motivated by road rage.
Jeffery Lindor has been charged with second-degree murder. (Montreal Police)George de Castro, 42, died Friday morning after being on life support.
A Laval man, Jeffrey Lindor, 26, has been charged with second-degree murder.
The two drivers got into a fight around 8 p.m. ET Thursday at the intersection of Laurier Street and 18th Avenue, just a few blocks from Maisonneuve Park in Montreal's Rosemont borough.
The men got out of their vehicles and continued arguing. The younger man then jumped back into his car, said police.
"When the 26-year-old driver left, he hit the 42-year-old man who was standing on the street," said Const. Olivier Lapointe.
Lapointe said the driver fled, but soon returned to the scene, where he was arrested.
"We aren't sure what exactly caused the accident, but it may have been linked to road rage," said Lapointe.
Lindor appeared in court Friday afternoon to be formally charged with second-degree murder.
He'll remain behind bars, pending his next court appearance in January.
