A passerby found Cinthia Toussaint's body in a manhole in Montreal's Ahuntsic district on Saturday. (Montreal police)The body found in a manhole in the Montreal district of Ahuntsic is that of a missing mother, who was presumed dead, police said on Tuesday.
Autopsy results confirmed that the body was that of 23-year old Cinthia Toussaint.
On Saturday, Toussaint's former boyfriend, 26-year-old Mario Romain was charged with first-degree murder in connection with her disappearance.
Toussaint, 23, was last seen on May 17, when she dropped off a friend in the borough of Saint-Léonard. Toussaint told the friend she was going to meet her ex-boyfriend at the Taz skateboarding park in Saint-Michel.
Romain, the father of Toussaint's three-year-old son, told police that she had never showed up. Police scoured the area for two days but called off their search Wednesday.
Then on Saturday, a woman saw a body stuffed in a manhole near the skate park and called authorities.
Romain was arrested a few hours later.
He pleaded not guilty to the charges and is scheduled to be back in court June 10.
