Quebec voters headed to the polls Sunday to elect their municipal governments.
Elections were being held in 839 cities, towns and villages across the province.
Polling stations opened at 10 a.m. ET and close at 8 p.m.
Registered voters must bring photo identification to their local polling station. Acceptable ID includes health cards, driver's licences or a Canadian passport.
A total of 561 mayors will be elected in different communities across the province by the end of the day.
Eight municipalities won't be electing a mayor on Sunday because of a lack of candidates.
