2 dead, 2 in hospital after string of Montreal shootings
Bullets tear through Little Burgundy, Mercier and St-Leonard.

A 25-year-old man was shot in the upper body just after 1 a.m. on Monday at the intersection of Quesnel and Dominion streets in Little Burgundy. (CBC)A man in his 30s was in critical condition in hospital after being shot Monday morning in St-Leonard.
This is the third shooting in less than 24 hours in Montreal. The first two victims died from their injuries.
Montreal police said the victim in St-Leonard was leaving a business at 11:15 a.m. and walking with a friend at the corner of Jarry East and Pascal-Gagnon streets when a person approached them and shot the victim in the upper body.
Police don't have a description of the suspect, but they are calling the shooting an attempted murder.

Another shooting victim — a 25-year-old man — was shot in the upper body just after 1 a.m. on Monday at the intersection of Quesnel and Dominion streets in Little Burgundy.
Both men were declared dead upon arrival in hospital. As of Monday morning, police had made no arrests in either case, which they listed as the 12th and 13th homicides on the island of Montreal this year.
Police said the first shooting happened when a man approached a group of about 15 young people hanging out near a building.
"The suspect [walked] up to the victim, took out a gun and shot him in the head," said Const. Daniel Lacoursière.
When police arrived at the scene of the shooting in Little Burgundy, they found two victims. The 25-year old who died, and a 22-year-old man who had been shot in the legs.
