The mother of a missing Quebec girl who turned up at a Vancouver transit station last month has been arrested on allegations of parental abduction.

Araceli Bravo's lawyer, Rishi Gill, says the 45-year-old woman was picked up Tuesday by Vancouver police.

Bravo is expected to return to Quebec to be formally charged.

Montreal police allege Bravo abducted her daughter more than two years ago.

The daughter made headlines last month after she ran away from her mother's Vancouver home and called 911 from a SkyTrain station.

Transit police picked up the girl and realized she was the subject of an investigation in Quebec.

The 10-year-old's father was granted full custody of the girl in March.
