A man was shot and left in an alley in one of two separate shooting incidents Thursday night that are being investigated by Montreal police.
A man in his 20s was found in the snowy alley near the corner of Jean-Talon Street and Outremont Avenue in the Parc-Extension neighbourhood.
'A guy was returning to his car when at least two suspects opened fire on him.'—Const. Philippe Collins, Montreal police
Police said several people called 911 at 10:30 p.m. ET on Thursday to alert authorities about the man.
"When police officers arrived on the scene, they immediately located the man, who was injured in the lower part of his body," said Const. Philippe Collins.
"He was then transported to the hospital, and then they realized he was shot at least one time."
Collins said the man is known to police and is refusing to co-operate with the investigation.
About a half-hour later in Ahuntsic, north of the first shooting location, police said two people opened fire on a man getting into his car on Tolhurst Street.
"A guy was returning to his car when at least two suspects opened fire on him. Projectiles hit his car and also an apartment door," said Collins.
The man was not hit. He drove his bullet-riddled car away from the scene and called police when he arrived at his home in Little Burgandy.
The investigation is still underway, but police have no suspects.
