It's holiday hours this week for many Quebec businesses

The Christmas break means many stores, government offices and public transit services will be running on holiday schedules this week in Quebec.
But regular parking rules are in place on Christmas Day in Montreal, and meters must still be fed.
In Montreal, metro and bus service will follow regular schedules on Dec. 24. On Christmas Day, buses and metro cars will run on Sunday schedules.
On Boxing Day, some buses will operate on Saturday schedules while others will follow Sunday schedules.
Para-transportation services are accepting normal reservations throughout the Christmas holidays, until Jan. 2.
Commuter trains will run on modified weekend schedules on Christmas and Boxing Day.
All banks are closed on Christmas and Boxing Day.
Provincial and federal government offices are closed until Dec. 27.
Municipal services are operating under reduced hours, or are closed altogether until Jan. 2 inclusive. Residents can get full details by dialing 311 in the greater Montreal region.
For the most part, supermarkets are closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and will reopen under reduced hours on Boxing Day.
Liquor stores close at 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve except express outlets, which stay open until 7 p.m. SAQ outlets are closed on Dec. 25 and reopen in the afternoon on Boxing Day.
There will be no garbage or recycling pick up on Christmas Day. Residents can contact their borough office for more information.
Canada Post will not pick up or deliver mail on Dec. 25 and 26.
