A large tanker truck hauling diesel spilled its load on Highway 30 westbound outside Montreal Thursday afternoon, transport officials said.

At least 14,000 litres of diesel spilled from the truck's holding tanks after it tipped over near the junction with Highway 10, on the South Shore of the St. Lawrence River.

There is no risk of explosion but the driver was slightly injured and is being treated by ambulance workers, provincial police said.

Highway 30 westbound is completely closed, as are the access ramps to the 10 east and 10 west.
