Cédrika Provencher's family celebrated her 10th birthday Wednesday, even though the freckle-faced child is still nowhere to be found.

Cédrika vanished without a trace nearly a month ago after police say she told a witness she was helping a man look for a lost dog.

A task force of provincial and Trois-Rivières police has been chasing tips from the public to find the girl.

One sighting the police describe as credible is a witness who said the child had been seen with a man in Quebec's Gaspé area.

Noted Quebec crime reporter Claude Poirier has also been enlisted as an intermediary, and he said he has received 125 calls, including some that were interesting.

However, Poirier blasted callers on his lunch-time television show for wasting his time by calling him for advice. He said he's waiting for calls with specific information.

Psychologists have been made available at Cédrika's school to help classmates dealing with her disappearance as they return to school Thursday.
