Monday is shaping up to be winter's coldest day yet in many parts of Quebec.

In the greater Montreal and Quebec City regions, temperatures were expected to plunge below -19 degrees C, according to Environment Canada.

With wind gusts as high as 60 kilometres per hour in Montreal, the temperature will feel like -35.

Frigid weather is also gripping Rouyn-Noranda, Rimouski, the Saguenay, Sherbrooke and Gatineau.
