Quebec City police have enlisted Interpol to help track down Olympian Myriam Bédard, accused of kidnapping her 11-year-old daughter.

Police contacted the international agency, which will post a photo of the former biathlete in the website's fugitive section, which means law enforcement officers are instructed to arrest her on the spot.

Bédard's ex-husband, Jean Paquet, contacted police after she allegedly broke their joint custody agreement and denied him access to their daughter.

Bédard is believed to have fled to the United States with her daughter and husband, Nima Mazhari.

Quebec City police issued a Canada-wide warrant Dec. 5.

In media interviews a week ago, Paquet said he doesn't want to punish Bédard, but would like his daughter back home so the child can resume a normal life and return to school.
