STM bus strikes 83-year-old pedestrian

An 83-year-old Montreal man is in critical condition after being struck by an STM bus outside the Charlevoix Metro station in the city's Southwest borough.

An 83-year-old Montreal man is in critical condition after being struck by an STM bus outside the Charlevoix Metro station in the city's Pointe St-Charles neighbourhood.

Montreal police spokesman Const. Simon Delorme says the accident happened around 12 p.m. as the bus was making a left turn.

The man suffered a serious head injury in the collision and is listed in critical but stable condition in hospital.

Video footage from the scene shows a bus with a cracked windshield stopped in the intersection of Charlevoix and Centre streets.
