STM bus crash injures 17 near Viau Metro station
45-year-old public transit bus driver lost control of bus and crashed into tree
An STM bus crashed into a tree late Tuesday night, injuring 17 on board including the driver.
The bus slid on the snow and, as the 45-year-old driver tried to regain control of the vehicle, he crashed head-on into a tree.
The incident happened around 11:00 p.m. Tuesday on Viau Street just south of Sherbrooke Street East.
The bus driver was pinned to his seat by the tree and had more serious injuries than the 16 passengers on board who were injured.
