Steinberg wins third term in Hampstead

While the mayor's seat was acclaimed in the majority of the Montreal-area demerged cities, the office was up for grabs in three of the on-island municipalities.

Mayor acclaimed in most of Montreal's demerged suburbs

Incumbent Hampstead mayor Bill Steinberg has secured a third term. 

The two way race between Steinberg and challenger Bonnie Feigenbaum was one of the few races in the demerged cities that was not acclaimed. 

In Montreal East, incumbent Robert Coutu claimed an easy victory, winning 52.1 per cent of the vote in a three-way race.

In Montreal West, incumbent BenyMasella faced off against Simon Phillipson and AsherWaldman.

Results in are not yet available in that municipality.

Hampstead: Bill Steinberg (61.2%)

Montreal East: Robert Coutu (52.1 %)

Montreal West: Beny Masella (unofficial).

Town of Mount Royal: Philippe Roy (acclaimed)

Vaudreuil sur le Lac: M. Claude Pilon (acclaimed) 

Île-Perrot: Marc Roy (acclaimed)

Westmount:  Peter Trent (acclaimed)
