A 29-year-old woman was arrested early Sunday morning after she hit three pedestrians with her car in Montreal’s St-Laurent borough – an incident witnessed by police on hand to break up a disturbance.
Police spokesman Simon Delorme said officers were responding to a brawl involving close to 100 people in front of a business on Côte-Vertu Boulevard near Highway 40 at around 3:20 a.m.
As they arrived on the scene, the officers saw a driver plow her vehicle into three women pedestrians.
"One of the women was projected, literally, in the air," Delorme said.
He said the driver then reversed and drove into some parked cars before she was arrested.
The pedestrian who was sent flying by the impact of the collision sustained serious but not critical injuries.
Delorme said charges have not yet been laid, but the driver is in police custody.
