Five people have now been arrested in connection with a multi-million dollar silver heist at the Port of Montreal.

Montreal police searched a dozen locations in Saint-Laurent and Pointe-Claire yesterday and arrested the men, who are all between the ages of 35 and 53.

They are expected to face charges of theft over $5,000 and conspiracy.

Police were still on scene in an industrial area of Pointe-Claire this morning.

The heist took place last Wednesday, when a truck stolen from Montreal's west end drove off with a shipping container holding up to $10 million in silver from the port.

The container lifted from the port was found empty Saturday on a residential street in Repentigny.

Police said some of the stolen silver had been recovered.
