Sick child's Christmas wish for stuffed bears comes true

Zoé, a sick 8-year-old girl from Bromont, Que., said she wanted thousands of stuffed animals for Christmas — and her wish has come true.

"It's just a big wave of love," says Catherine Salois, mother of 8-year-old Zoé Bernard Salois.

She's talking about the overwhelming response she's had to Zoé's Christmas wish.

Her daughter is very sick — she had a heart transplant when she was four, and now she has an aggressive form of cancer called Burkitt's lymphoma.

When Zoé was asked what she wanted more than anything in the whole world for Christmas this year, she told her parents she wanted thousands of stuffed bears.

So Salois put a callout on Facebook — and was bowled over by the generosity of strangers.
