Polo the cat, who captured national attention over the holidays, is about to get a home and family.

During the Christmas holidays, a group of children found the cat frozen in ice.

He was thought to be dead.

But he’s alive, and with medical treatment from the Eastern Townships SPA, getting better every day.

“Because of these severe frostbites, the vet had to trim the tips of both ears and also all of his tail," said Cathy Bergeron of the Eastern Townships S.P.A.

Thursday morning, a young couple will pick Polo and bring him home.
