Saint-Jérôme police seek possible victims of alleged sex offender
31-year-old Arundel resident Simon Drouin arrested yesterday on 12 charges including online luring of minors
Police in Saint-Jérôme say they are looking for possible victims of 31-year-old Arundel resident Simon Drouin, who appeared in court today to face 12 charges of online luring, invitation to sexual touching and possession of child pornography.
Drouin was arrested Thursday at his home in Arundel, near Mont Tremblant.
Saint-Jérôme police began investigating Drouin after receiving a complaint lodged in September 2014 that accused him of luring minors online.
Investigators began following Drouin on social media, where they allege he engaged at least two adolescents under the age of 16 in conversations of a sexual nature.
Officers also seized computers from Drouin's home during Thursday's arrest.
Drouin remains in police custody and is scheduled to appear at the Saint-Jérôme courthouse on Feb. 16 for a bail hearing.
Members of the public with information connected to the investigation are asked to call Detective Sgt. Mélanie Millard at 450-432-3000, ext. 2254.
