Montreal has joined a global movement that gives anyone who likes to cook the chance to open their own restaurant on Sunday — but just for one day.

It's called Restaurant Day and it started in Finland three years ago. This is Montreal's third edition, following events in February and May.

Montreal's parks, sidewalks and other public spaces will host more than 50 pop-up restaurants on Sunday.

Local founder Frédérik-Toran Nissen spoke to All In a Weekend host Sonali Karnick on Saturday. Listen here.

Can't make it this time? The fall edition of Restaurant Day will roll out in November.
