Police in Repentigny now say a suspicious package left in front of the Bourg-Neuf elementary school early Wednesday morning is not dangerous.
A janitor noticed what appeared to be a plastic bucket left in front of the school doors at 6:30 a.m.
The janitor was concerned and called 9-1-1.
Repentigny police established a security perimeter and called in Quebec provincial police bomb squad to have a look at the package.
Students arriving at school were kept warm in buses parked outside the security perimeter while the operation continued.
Provincial police examined the package and determined it wasn't dangerous.
