A car detailing shop was set on fire early this morning in Repentigny, the latest in a string of early-morning arsons targeting businesses in the area.
Sgt. Bruno Marier of the Repentigny police said emergency crews were called to the business at 585 Leclerc Street at 3:15 a.m.
"The firefighters got there and the fire was pretty intense so they had to go through the roof to be able to contain it," he said.
It took more than an hour to extinguish the flames.
Marier said they have no suspects and no witnesses have come forward.
Yesterday, a Molotov cocktail attack at a pizzeria yielded two arrests within minutes.
Witnesses spotted two young men breaking the front window at Kurd Pizza and they were quickly located.
Marier said it’s too early to tell if the two arsons are linked.
"We’ve now had five fire bombings in pizza parlours," he said. "This is the first time we have a fire bombing in a car [detailing] shop, so it’s too early to tell."
The investigation is ongoing.
