Quebec couple killed in car-truck crash in New Brunswick
RCMP says woman, 59, and 61-year-old man were on vacation in Tracadie-Sheila area
A couple from Quebec died Wednesday after their car collided with a tractor trailer in northeastern New Brunswick.
An RCMP spokesman said a 59-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene and a 61-year-old man who was driving the vehicle died later in hospital.
Sgt. Marc Beaupré said the crash occurred near Six Roads, in the Tracadie-Sheila area, at the intersection of Pallot Road and Route 11.
He said the preliminary investigation indicates the car was turning onto the highway when it was struck by the oncoming truck.
Beaupré said the names of the couple aren't being released pending notification of relatives.
He says the couple from St-Jean-Sur-Richelieu, Que., were believed to be on vacation when the crash occurred.
