Power is slowly being restored to households and businesses across Quebec after outages caused by high winds.

The Monteregie region south of Montreal was the hardest hit. At one point, Hydro Quebec reported that more than 11,000 homes and businesses in the area were without power.

As of 10 p.m., 7,684 Hydro Quebec clients across the province still had no power.
