Police in Rouyn-Noranda, about 600 kilometres northwest of Montreal, have released the name of the First Nations man found dead on Saturday night in Val d'Or.

He is 40-year-old John Thusky from the Algonquin community of Rapid Lake.

His body was found by a passerby around 8:30 p.m. ET in an industrial park near the intersection of Fourth Street and Fifth Avenue.

Authorities do not believe foul play was involved in Thusky's death, as there were no signs of violence.

Autopsy results are expected next week.
