Pierrefonds bar shooting suspect sought by Montreal police

Montreal police are looking for a suspect after a man, 23, was shot and injured during an altercation at a bar in Pierrefonds on Montreal's West Island early this morning.

Montreal police are looking for a suspect after a 23-year-old man was shot and injured during an altercation at a bar in Pierrefonds on Montreal's West Island early this morning.

Police were summoned to Le Skratch bar and pool hall at the intersection of  Pierrefonds and Sources boulevards at around 2 a.m. ET Friday.

"Two customers had a conflict, and the conflict turned bad when one of the customers — the suspect — [took] out a firearm and [shot] in the direction of the victim," said Montreal police spokesman Const. Simon Delorme.

The victim is in hospital with a bullet wound to the upper body. Delorme said he is expected to recover from his injuries.

Delorme said the victim is known to police.
