Pierre's picks: 5 don't-miss events in Montreal this weekend
Paul Simon & Sting, Arashi Daiko, Circus Oz, Montreal en Lumière and Margie Gillis this weekend
Every Friday, CBC Montreal’s Homerun arts reporter Pierre Landry brings you the top five things to see and do in Montreal this weekend.
Here are Pierre's picks for February 28, March 1 and 2.
1. What is there left to say about Paul Simon and Sting? They are arguably two of the most important songwriters on both sides of the Atlantic. For the first time, they are touring and playing together. How awesome is that? The concert's Friday at Bell Centre at 8 p.m.
4. When is the last time you pulled an all-nighter? Montreal en Lumière wraps up this weekend with the very popular Nuit Blanche. Over 200 activities ranging from music, to visual arts, to food, to just about anything will take place all over Montreal. It's best to plan ahead with the festival's interactive map! Join in Saturday into the wee hours of Sunday.
5. Dancer and choreographer Margie Gillis is celebrating her 40th anniversary as an artist by presenting Florilège, a selection of most famous works, some dating back to 1978. At Agora de la danse (840 Cherrier), Friday at 8 p.m. & Saturday at 4 p.m.
