Pedestrian struck by truck in Westmount

An unidentified woman in her late 40s or early 50s was struck by a truck at the corner of Wood Street and de Maisonneuve Boulevard West in Westmount just before noon today.

A woman is in critical condition in hospital after being hit by a pickup truck in Westmount at 11:50 a.m. today.

Montreal police said the woman was crossing Wood Street as the truck was making a left turn onto the street from de Maisonneuve Boulevard West.

Montreal police Const. Dany Lacoursière said witnesses told investigators the woman was running across the street when she was struck.

He said the 44-year-old driver of the vehicle was not injured.

Urgence Santé said the woman suffered severe head injuries.

The woman is believed to be in her late 40s or early 50s.
