Pedestrian seriously injured after being hit by car

A woman in her early 20s is in hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a car at the intersection of Berri and Ontario streets in Montreal early Saturday morning.

A woman in her early 20s is in hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a car at the intersection of Berri and Ontario streets in downtown Montreal early Saturday morning. 

Witnesses said the woman had just left a nearby bar when the accident occurred at 3:15 a.m.

Police said the woman was crossing the intersection on a red light when she was hit by a car coming down Berri Street. She was propelled 15 metres by the impact.

The woman suffered serious injuries in the collision but is expected to recover.

The driver of the car, a 26-year-old woman, was treated for shock.
