The 51-year-old man is in hospital with serious head injuries
A 51-year-old man is in critical condition after he was struck by an SUV backing up in a Côte-des-Neiges parking lot Friday night.
At around 11:15 p.m., the 63-year-old driver was backing up in the private parking lot near de Courtai Avenue and Lavoie street, when police say he didn't see the man behind him.
The pedestrian's head was seriously injured, police say, and they fear for his life.
The driver stayed on the scene and was not hurt, Montreal police spokesperson Const. Caroline Chevrefils said.
Witnesses called police, Chevrefils said.
