A 22-year-old man is fighting for his life and another is in stable condition after being shot early Sunday morning in ​Notre-Dame-de-Grâce.

The shooting occurred around 2:40 a.m. ET near the intersection of St-Jacques and Elmhurst Streets.

Montreal police say witnesses saw one of the two men get into an altercation with a third man who subsequently pulled out a gun and shot both victims numerous times.

Both were taken to hospital and police say the 22-year-old victim’s life is in danger. The 25-year-old victim is expected to survive.

Police are searching for at least one suspect.
