Natrel milk facility in Quebec under investigation
CBC News has heard dozens of complaints about Natrel milk going off weeks ahead of best before date
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is investigating a Natrel milk facility in Quebec City after complaints from consumers about the company's milk going off weeks ahead of its best before date.
CBC News has heard dozens of complaints about Natrel milk purchased over the last few weeks.
Many have best before dates at the end of September and in early October.
In a written response to CBC News, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency confirmed that its inspectors are investigating the complaints.
“CFIA inspectors are following up with the facility, reviewing records and procedures,” the statement said.
The agency investigates all complaints regarding the contamination of food products, it said.
Natrel has not returned repeated calls from CBC.
