Motorcylist killed after colliding with dump truck

A 41-year-old man died on Wednesday in Montreal after he crashed into a large truck turning left on Dr. Penfield Avenue.

Montreal police are investigating after a motorcyclist was killed after he crashed into a dump truck turning left.

The incident happened on Dr. Penfield Avenue, near the Royal Victoria Hospital.

According to police, witnesses said the motorcyclist tried to pass the truck while it was turning left from Dr. Penfield Avenue into a construction site. 

Witnesses said the truck signalled properly.

Urgences-Santé said the man suffered serious injuries to his head and body.

The 41-year-old man was declared dead after he was rushed to hospital.

Part of Dr. Penfield Avenue near Pine Avenue was closed to traffic for several hours but reopened at around 4:30 p.m.
